Strange evening - I must blog

I have a list of things that I need to blog about - like the other half of February which was a little on the crazy side. (For my own sake, here's the list: Max's 15 month check up, girls night out, MUSE concert, dinner at Bev's, class photos, Max's playdate, Ty Lewis walk, and adding photos...).
But now we are in MARCH. So what does that mean? Well, in short, in means SPRING TRAINING - Baseball Season. Kris already went to two games last week, and we were going to kick off the family's first game of the season - to see the Cardinals!! - today. However, it just happened to be 40 degrees for the high, and 15 mph winds at the stadium. So, it was 11 am sharp and we had snacks packed, layers of clothes on each of us (most were red and had something with Cardinals on it,) we were in the car, had picked up lunch, and were almost ready to head to Viera, and Kris looked up on Twitter what the weather was like over there. The crazy Card's fans were tweeting that they were freezing at the stadium, so BELIEVE IT OR NOT - Kris turned the car around and we went back home!!! No baseball for us today.

So we spent the day watching movies, doing laundry, cleaning up, and - we got the kids' haircuts!! This had been a long time waiting, as I was trying to hold on to Max's little boy curls for as long as possible, but today was the day. Karmann wanted a haircut too, as she said her hair was in her eyes. She could have waited a bit, but I took advantage of her enthusiasm, and begged Kris to come with me so we'd get both kiddos done at once. Max did great! He didn't like the trimmers, but was a trooper getting the rest of it cut! The hairdryer noise was helping a bit in the chair next to him, too. The stylist was brilliant at having kris hold Max, and having him hold a mirror down so Max would look into it, and then she placed some of his hair on the mirror so he'd play with it and stay focused - it worked! Here's a few before and afters...
Could these curls be any cuter!?!

After we got home from haircuts, it was about dinner time. So I made one of Kar's favorite dinners - homemade chicken goldies (nuggets) and mac'n cheese. But the strange thing was she wanted to eat dinner in her room, at her table, all by herself. She set her table with a bandanna for a place mat, her pink favorite plate, her pink fork, spoon, and knife, and her pink cup. I told her she couldn't watch tv while she ate, and that we preferred that she sit with us as a family, but she insisted that she wanted to eat in her room and eat alone. And, she did! She kept talking to herself saying how delicious dinner was, and she repeatedly came out of her room to give me hugs and kisses, and would return back to her room, sit down and eat. She asked for more 3 times, and ate all of it. She then cleaned up and took her dishes to the kitchen when she was done. Like I said, it was very strange.
On another note, Max finally has 2 more teeth! They are molars - one upper left, and one lower right. The kid seems to always be eating something. He is a growing boy and eats about as much as I do - not kidding. He knows what he likes and dislikes for sure! He will barely eat anything green. We trick him by having him eat the baby food that is in the packets that have spinach, broccoli and other good veggies in them so he doesn't know. But other than that, he'll eat just about anything still. I'm just glad he got more teeth! Now if only they'd fill in between!
Well, I hope he starts sleeping through the night again. Its late Sunday already, and another week is about to begin. As I mentioned, its chilly here, and is supposed to be cool for the next few days. I will take 40's any day over snow! Kris just hopes it warms up for the games! We've got plans for the next 3 weekends, so I'll fill in the gaps when I can!
