Catching Up - September events

September seemed to go by so fast and looking at photos, I need to catch up on what went on. So looking back, we had our last visit to Sea World (for a few years at least); Kar and I "ran" the Color Run again!; and we had a good time celebrating Grandpa's birthday among other things. Taking Advantage

So, of course the next weekend we decided to go to Mickey and Minnie's zoo!! This was fun too, though way more crowded than we expected! We didn't get there as early, nor did we last as long this time. It was hot and busy, but we still had a good time. Max especially liked the Lion King show and was even singing and clapping with the audience. The safari was also a hit as we got to ride in the "big truck"! The parade was a big hit for Kar again as she had a good seat so the characters would come and shake her hand.

Meeting the Princesses!

After long time Sea World pass holders, we finally decided we would bite the bullet and join the Disney annual pass holder club. It was time. Kar has been obsessed with Sleeping Beauty (aka Princess Aurora) for about 2 years. She knows that we live in the same place as the "diz-en-ney" castle, so she's been asking when we are going to go there for a while. Finally, her dream came true.
We hadn't 100% decided to get tickets so we didn't tell her until the day of. When she woke up we told her that she was invited to a party, but it was a surprise as to who invited her. On our way there, we gave her a clue that their names started with M. She was guessing - Max, Mommy, Mia, and when we got to the Disney entrance, she saw Mickey and Minnie and figured it out - the look on her face was priceless.
After parking, transferring tickets, riding the train, going through security, and activating our tickets again, we finally made it to Main Street. The only thing on Karmann's mind was to meet the princesses. So a bee-line to the castle and behind to the Princess Hall. Thankfully, Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty were on duty!! And only a 20 minute wait! It is set up really nicely where they only allow 3-4 families in at a time and you really do get to talk and get quality photos with the cast-members. Kar was so happy and excited that I was in tears watching the whole priceless moment happen. It was to her advantage to see Cinderella first, so her nerves were settled a bit once she got to Sleeping Beauty. The pictures say it all:

This moment is all she wanted - so the rest of the day was just a bonus. We had a good day with not too crazy waits in Fantasy Land. Max also had a great time and loved the Small World boats and the train around the park. By the 3 pm parade, Max had crashed and Kar was tired, but we made it a little bit longer. We headed over to Epcot for dinner, which we didn't realize the craziness that we would encounter at the Food and wine festival, so we didn't make it back to Magic Kingdom for the electric parade. In fact, I don't think they would have lasted, as Kar was asking for her bed! So we will be back for the night time experience sometime soon!
