Not a real update

Sorry I have nothing to post on the house, and I haven't taken many photos of Karmann lately - shame on me! I did just trim her hair again, so that's about it for a visual change. I just got done going into her room for the THIRD time tonight, but this time it was important - I heard her yelp "Mommy! Stuck!!!" and when I rushed in, her left leg was stuck between the rails of her crib and the wall. Silly girl! Poor thing, I'm sure it hurt. So after a little TLC, I think she will finally go to sleep (let's hope Kris doesn't wake her up when he walks in the door!)
She is probably unsettled, because we have started to move things around in her room to make way for Grammy who is coming for her spring break, and Kris' friend Nathan who will be visiting for a few Spring Training games.
We are trying to figure logistics out for the finishing of the house and the move, though it seems like those two things are never going to get here. I'm not getting discouraged, its just the closer we get, the longer the list gets of things to get done. We'll get there - hopefully by April!
Back on the subject of Karmann...she's learned the concept of "hide and seek" and tends to prefer to hide in her closet, which I've learned this weekend, when I searched EVERYWHERE for her in the condo, and though I could hear her little voice, I could not tell where it was coming from until she moved the door! Little stinker! She's definitely a two-year old. She's also claiming everything to be "mine" and is stubborn!!! No real progress on the potty, but at least she's sitting on it on occasion before bath time. She's also adorably telling Kris and me when we look "pretty" or nice when we get dressed in the morning. She is starting to help me pick out my clothes, too! Another new trend is after dinner, she wants to get her shoes and jacket on and go bye-bye. So a few times, we've actually given in and either taken a ride to the house or the grocery store to satisfy her urge. At least she is putting on her shoes and jacket by herself! She's also starting to be a lot more cuddly and affectionate. She's not so stingy with her kisses to Daddy any more and will pretty much give you a hug when asked. Or, like today, she walked up to me and hugged my legs and said "hug Mommy" - soo sweet! I'll try to update photos this week. Have a good one!

Diego and White

Ta-da! Its official. The house color and scheme has been decided on - like it or not! We decided on a white/gray combo and had 4 grays that we tested, and decided on Diego! Yesterday a few of Kris' co-workers generously donated their Saturday to help with the paining of the house! Much was accomplished!!! The gray was painted on the front "cantilever" and part of the back before we ran out of paint. The east and the ground floor of the back were painted white. The other areas still needed my help with caulking so painting those will probably be next weekend. I think we need another coat of the gray on the front, too, but Kris disagrees, so we will see what is decided. Other than that, Kris moved dirt and rock all day today, and I helped filling those gaps again! Karmann enjoyed spending time with Grandpa Hare, and is fully recovered from her vomiting and slight fever from last Thursday night. More about that later...as we are exhausted from the weekend's work...I'm heading to bed now! Good night!

1 year anniversary!

Today marks 1 year since we broke ground (literally) on the lot and we were off and running! I can say both Kris and me are totally exhausted! And the closer we get to moving in, the farther away it seams. We are still planning on getting a certificate of occupancy this month, but have determined that we probably won't be moving in till late March early April. We are both okay with that. So many details are still to be figured out, and a few hick-ups continue to occur (don't worry we aren't holding our breath to try and get rid of them!) but overall, today is a great milestone!
Here's a few favorite photos from the process....

Karmann climbing rocks

Last week, Papa didn't make it back to Illinois due to the major snow storm, so lucky us! He stayed until today! That was an extra 5 days of work on the house and we couldn't be more thankful! Karmann's going to miss him for sure as she loved having him around too! Hopefully this video loads for everyone, as it is Karmann climbing the big rock pile at the house right now - with a little help from Papa! Enjoy!
So the original video was too big to load here - so here's a shorter one of Missy K to fill the place.
