That's enough! Today we hit an emotional overload - all of us really. My emotions are dealing with the sudden death of a close friend and co-worker, who's funeral was today. On the other hand today, Kris was formally recognized at the Orange County Commission meeting for his LEEDership of the Year 2012 award. His emotions were strong as he was able to give a speech expressing his passion for which he received the award. Both kids must sense the stress (good and bad) that these current events have put on us because the last few days have been crazy in their little world, too. Max has all the sudden changed from the most go-with-the-flow child to a screaming, kicking, throwing a fit child for the last few days. He is getting almost all the rest of his teeth at one time (he still only has the top two and bottom two out!) so we believe it is the stress and pain of that that is causing him to resist bath time, bed time, and pretty much everything in between. I hope that this is just a phase, as both Kris, Karmann and I are pretty worn out from the interrupted sleeping patterns. Though before I forget, his vocabulary has increased recently. Though he babbles a lot and I swear is trying to say full sentences in his own language, he clearly says Mommy, Daddy, baby, blanky, ball, and this weekend he added bubble! So the letter B is getting used a lot. He still hasn't "named" Karmann yet (that we know of) though he clearly understands who she is when referred to by name.
Karmann is showing her stress by having accidents again. She was on such a good stretch! We are all working through it - and trying to be loving and supportive with one another. Honestly, as soon as I see Max and Kar when I pick them up from school, my mind leaves all my concerns at the door, and I focus on them and they make me happy. Max makes me laugh everyday as when he sees me come in the door, he drops everything and runs to greet me. As soon as I pick him up, he immediately starts to wave goodbye to all the teachers and blows them kisses! Its so cute as its as if he's saying "okay, momma's here and though I love you all - I'm outta here! Good night!" Karmann is the same way, though she's usually more excited to see Max than me, but that too makes me happy. Her other thing lately (well, since Christmas to be exact) is dressing up as Sleeping Beauty. She seriously wears the dress from the minute she gets home till she takes a bath and goes to bed. Tonight she even came to the grocery store with me with crown and all. She even got a comment from another patron that he was lucky to shop where princesses shop. It was pretty cute. She keeps telling me that we need to get Max something to wear so he can be a prince! I'm sure he'd love that! Though I think it is a good idea.
Karmann is growing up so fast and learning so many things on a daily basis. She impressed me yesterday when she asked if i was taking her to ballet, and I said no - today is Tuesday. She replied, so do I go to ballet on Threes-day? She was being silly, but I thought it was pretty cute. She does love numbers, so it was a fitting little joke.
We are prep-ing for Valentines day, so I will hopefully have photos to post soon. Its about time I gave a little update. Next one will be pictures. I am mentally worn out, so will hopefully get rest and focus better in the next week or so. I hope to post pictures before then though :)
