Its a big deal!

So I have to record May 22nd, 2011 as Karmann's 1st official poop in the potty at home! (Sorry to those who this grosses out.) But, it was a big deal!! Karmann has been in potty training at school since about February, and since her parents (yes, us) have been busy building a house and packing and moving, we haven't been very consistent on our part. So, now that we can focus, we are trying to get her to train at home too. This weekend we tried to be consistent, and finally last night, she turned and grabbed her diaper and I said you need to go potty? And she gave me the look - so off to the toilet we went. And, I noticed she was needing to go - well, you know. So - as hilarious as it was, she went! And boy were we excited! And we had to go get Daddy to show him her accomplishment! So today at school, she also went pee in the potty a couple times, they said. This too is an accomplishment! Though tonight, she already has gone pee in her pull-up, so we still have a lot of work to do! Our "plan" is to take this upcoming 3 day weekend to be much more aggressive and try and go full-on with no diaper or pull-ups. We are keeping our fingers crossed that we make progress.
On another note, I had my 16 week check-up on Friday. So far I have gained about 10 lbs. And just 4.5 of that was in the last 4 weeks. So, I'm actually on track. I am already pooched out and everyone thinks I'm much farther along than I am. I guess that is normal with your second? I'm already feeling uncomfortable and FINALLY brought out my maternity clothes, and boy does it make a difference!
Yesterday Karmann had another playdate with her little friends from daycare at Lake Eola. It was a warm day, but fun none the less! And last weekend, there was another birthday party for her playmate Alex at Chick Fil-a, and we also went swimming at the Sanchez's. Here's a few photos from those fun events!

Illinois wedding weekend

Last weekend we flew up to Illinois for one of Kris' oldest friend's wedding. Kris was in the wedding, so it was a weekend full of festivities. We ended up flying into St. Louis and meeting Grammy and Pappa to catch a Thursday afternoon game too (of course!). Karmann ended up catching a little stomach bug and actually threw-up at the airport when we got there - bless her heart! She was groggy and sleepy practically the whole day (which actually was nice during the game since she wanted to sit and lay still!) But she was better by Saturday morning, thank goodness.
Beside that, we had a wonderful weekend with family and friends, and a little bit of a Mother's Day celebration as well. Here's a few fun photos from the weekend....

Stenger Baby #2

On top of all the changes we are going through lately with moving into the house, etc. we decided to impose one more change by adding another baby to the mix! That's right - we are expecting #2 around November 2nd! That puts me at 15 weeks tomorrow! Things are going well so far. We had a little scare around week 11 and had to go to the ER, but everything turned out to be fine. I have a common situation where there is a blood clot between the placenta and the uterus, that will eventually go away. I was planning on flying to Panama City to meet up with my sister-in-law Sarah and her husband Charlie, but because of the scare, the doctor did not permit me to travel that weekend. I was totally bummed as this trip had been planned for a while and I was looking forward to relaxing on the beach with them and Karmann. Kris was going to finish a few things at the house since we would be out of his way, but of course that didn't happen either. But, regardless, I was glad that the baby was okay, and taking a break wasn't so bad either.
My belly is growing really fast, it seems, as I am already busting out of my normal clothes. I really haven't had any morning sickness (thank goodness) and pretty much things seem to be about like they were last time. That makes me believe its a girl again, but who knows! We are not planning on finding out again this time. We loved the surprise last time, so we figure we will do it again.
With everything going on, I haven't been taking photos of my belly, but I will post something sometime soon - or you may already notice the baby bump in some photos from the last few posts.
Karmann doesn't know what is going on yet. When we ask her if she wants a brother or a sister, she consistently says "sister" which is adorable! All I ask is that our children at least get along and love each other growing up. And, I hope some of Karmann's angelic qualities come through this child as well! Keeping my fingers crossed!!!

Move in time!

Its about time I update this blog and mention that during the weekend on April 22-24 we officially moved all of our stuff from the condo to our new house! The biggest challenge was getting our refrigerator, which had been housed in our condo dining area for over a year, up to the second floor and into the cabinet wall where it will reside. It took 4 strong guys (a big thank you to Curt, Osmin, Dave, and Kris) but it went fairly smoothly with out any scratches, dents, or broken shelves!! You have no idea how excited I was!!!
We had lots of help that day from our friends and we are so thankful for their hard work! Curt, Osmin, Dave and Jane, and Rebecca and Wes - we couldn't have done it all with out you! After we moved all the furniture and boxes, our next challenge was to clean the condo. Sunday was spent doing just that. We had renters already set up to move in the next weekend, so we had 5 days to get new carpet installed and get some painting finished. Kris painted in the evenings and the carpet was installed Thursday. It was amazing how clean and big the place felt without all our crap!! The condo has served us well, but I don't think I will miss it :).
