Let's go to the Beach

My adorable little Karmann woke up on Monday and immediately said "let's go to the beach Mommy". That was a very hard statement to say no to - especially first thing on a Monday morning. But, it was early and she ended up convincing Kris to take her into work with him that morning. It was a pathetic compromise if you ask me! But you have to do what you have to do. In the mean time, I soaked in the morning quiet as I got myself ready for work as well. Those mornings are few and will be even more far between as baby #2 gets here.
We are already into week 5 of the semester and counting down to 7 more weeks before the baby is due. We are in the "routine" so far, which will be significantly altered soon enough. A few other "deadlines" that we have to meet include a house tour for the local AIA chapter at the end of October. We are trying to prioritize what needs to get done before then - a thorough cleaning of the floors etc. is on my list, as well as getting the kids' room figured out. Other things include hanging photos on the walls and cleaning out the clutter! We should be receiving our shades for the upstairs windows tomorrow and hope to install them by the weekend. So progress is happening!
Progress is also happening in the size of my belly. Last week was my 32 wk check up. I have gained about 25 lbs. so far, and I feel like a horse (or cow or hippo - you pick). Most people just stare and have pitiful looks on their faces when they see me coming around the corner. I was having a good week physically, but today changed the week's outlook. If I could only get my legs and feet to move faster, but the balance and ligaments are getting in the way. I will take photos hopefully this weekend to illustrate my mood and well - being.
Along those lines, I remember when I was in the hospital in labor with Karmann. I had just received the epidural and of course couldn't really feel my legs. I specifically remember looking down at my legs and thinking - is that how freaking huge my leg is? Meaning - is that what my fat leg looks like? Since at the moment, I couldn't feel it, I guess my brain was processing the size of it - and it was huge. Well, having remembered that experience, I am already having that same realization. I can hardly move my legs already, so I can only imagine what its going to feel like 7 weeks from now. I can only hope breast feeding works out and the weight melts off me - well, especially my legs! Wish me luck! Watch out for the prego if we happen to make it to the beach for Karmann this weekend!!
