So I just realized I really haven't posted any photos of the house lately. I will hopefully get more photos tomorrow - as we have to take pictures of everything before the insulation goes in - which is scheduled for Thursday. But here's one of the front with the lap siding on the second level around the deck - done! The rear siding around that deck is also done. Next - we have to figure out the colors and paint before Kris moves the scaffolding to the other side. Its coming along!
Yesterday was my birthday and I remember thinking a few months ago how fast the house was going and that maybe we'd even be done by my birthday! Oh, how naive I was then! Though, we have made significant progress in 6 months - especially because Kris (and a few very generous friends and family members) have done almost all the work! The next steps become my responsibility - the interior finishes. And, as I write this blog, I am feeling guilty for not searching for less expensive modern light fixtures, counter tops, appliances, and floors, etc!!! Lots to do on my list!!!
On the other hand, Karmann started her first week in the Toddler room. She is now no longer in a crib for naps! They have little cots that they sleep on, and then the rest of the time they are "running wild" as far as I can tell! She loves it, and one of her little girl friends is back from when she was in the little baby room, so I know she's excited about that too. So far the teachers have only complained about her constantly wanting to take off her socks and shoes - I know! Its a new school year, and the 1 year anniversary of her being at this daycare - boy time has flown by!!
Last night we went out for dinner and walked around the Point where the restaurant was and Karmann saw a fountain! Here's a few pictures from last night and this weekend at the dinner table - enjoy!
