Confirmed HFMD

So the stubbornness was legitimate - as our baby girl really is sick. She broke out with the rash on her face on Tuesday afternoon, and after a visit to the doctor, it was considered contact dermatitis since she had no other signs and no fever. So back to daycare on Wednesday, when more of the children broke out, and she got a few more bumps, but still no fever. Another call to the doctor later, and still no fever, she went back to daycare on Thursday. This time, though, after breakfast, she threw up! So I picked her up from school and we had an awesome day! She didn't get sick the rest of the day and still - no fever! The bumps had shown up a little on two toes, and a few on her hands, but nothing bad. So last night she woke us up around 3:30 am screaming weirdly, so when I went in to check on her, the smell of her room told me she had gotten sick again. After cleaning her up and the bed, Kris stayed with her and tried to get her to go back to sleep. She was her happy self, though, and didn't want to! Knowing Kris was going to stay home with her today, I went back to sleep. Two hours later, they were both still awake! I quickly relieved Kris and took Karmann into her room, where she quickly fell back to sleep and was still asleep when I headed to work. Kris ended up with the short end of the stick, though, as she continued to get sick 3 more times today. She had a nap and had a little bit to eat for dinner, and she's been fine this evening. Her rash is subsiding a little, and we hope that the worst is over. She's acting like her giggly self tonight, so we'll hope for the best the rest of the weekend!
