Finger Painting on a rainy weekend

Karmann helping Kris play APBA (fantasy baseball game)

She knows how to roll the dice!!!

Counting the dice

Rounding up the di.
This past weekend has to be one of the lowest ranking weekends we've had in a while. I was home sick Thursday and Friday, and was starting to recover when Karmann started getting a cough and stuffy nose and was pretty much miserable all weekend. But, that didn't affect her energy level. On top of that, it was rainy and hot the whole time, which also kept us cooped up in the house! So, we killed the time watching Sesame Street (again) and also got a little creative with finger paints! Karmann does this all the time at school, as we have evidence of the adorable little "paintings" at the end of each week. So I also wonder if she gets the paint all over her face and hair, as she did with me. She's either way more disciplined at school, or they give her a bath after the event - who knows! But, as you can see, there was about as much paint on her face and in her hair (prior to me putting it in a pony tail in the back) than on the paper! Still, I had fun, she had fun, and I felt like we both accomplished something!
Tonight, Kris had a APBA game scheduled at our house. Since it was raining - again - Karmann and I were stuck here - again while Kris and his opponent played their series. Karmann has taken a keen interest in the game, since she's had to sit through quite a few since she was born. Tonight, she decided she not only wanted to "keep score" by writing all over the score sheets, but she also wanted to roll the dice for Daddy! It was actually really cute - and impressive! as she would exclaim "uh oh" or "yeah!" after each roll, and quickly grab the dice and do it again. I told Kris she better not grow up and have a gambling problem because I'd blame it on him!! Anyway, even with Karmann's help, I think Kris lost the series. Oh well, it was a good father-daughter bonding moment.
We are looking forward to this weekend as Grammy is coming to visit for one last summer vacation fix of the grand-daughters in FL! I will be cleaning up around here until she arrives! Wish me luck!
