Happy New Year!

Already I haven't been meeting my goals of updating the blog on a regular basis, but this year has started out like a rocket! Where did January go? So, I plan on updating with photos, etc. of the holidays and things we've done already (like the Color Run 5K!) but not tonight.
Before I forget, I just wanted to blog about Karmann's 4 year check up, Kris' award last week, and Max's first experience with key lime pie - if I get that far!
Kar had her 4 yr check-up so here's the stats: 39" tall, 34 lbs. has great coordination, hands, walking, etc. She has a very slight lisp but its very very slight and should go away in time (mostly with "s" and "f" and "v" sounds). She passed her eye test, but is stronger in her left eye than right. She knows and can identify all letters - upper and lower case! And can almost practically count to 100. She is very observant still. For example, she asked me today what the round holes were on the back of cars. When I told her that's where the exhaust from the engine comes out, she asked if it gets the air dirty!! I was impressed. She's still stubborn as all get out when it comes to going potty, but she very very rarely has any sort of accident. She can hula hoop like a pro and is very much in to Sleeping Beauty - the princes. She tells me she loves me all the time, which I am soaking in as much as I can! Though she gets mad at me when I tell her to stop sucking her thumb, which is something we are working on....
On another note, last week, Kris was awarded the Community LEEDer of 2012 award from the USGBC-CF chapter!! This was a great honor, as his supervisor nominated him for the award. We got to have a "date" at the awards dinner, and I am very proud of him and his accomplishment. I'll post photos too.
Max is growing up so fast. He still only has two top teeth and two bottom teeth, but that doesn't stop him from eating almost everything in sight. He's getting picky when it comes to vegetables, but pretty much anything else gets eaten. He also has learned sign language for the word "more" and has just this week been using it frequently. He is getting more teeth, though, as he's been waking up at night and you can feel the teeth coming in. I think he's going to have molars before any others come in though! He had a funny experience the other night. Uncle Jerry and Grandpa were visiting for dinner and we had Key lime Pie for dessert. Max wanted to try it. As soon as he took a bite, I asked him if he liked it. He nodded his head "yes" and then signed "more" and when Jerry game him another bite, he started clapping and smiling big time! After each bite, he clapped again, until he'd eaten a whole slice! He is his Daddy's child! It was very cute!
Alright, I made it. It is very late, but I am waiting for my old Iphone to "sync" so that I can upgrade to a newer phone (yeah!) but it is taking FOR EVER, so I may just have to let it run while I'm in bed and check back in a few hours! Good night!
