I totally have mommy guilt about not updating the blog for over a month. And, a lot has happened. The writer's block started about the time my mom and nannie came to visit - the week before Easter. Then, the following weekend we bought a new car and got rid of my beloved 1995 honda civic. Our new (and 2nd hybrid) vehicle has already brought us much joy! Maxwell turned 5 months and is turning over like a pro, laughing like a king, and teething like no other, with no teeth in sight. He's almost a whopping 20 lbs and growing in length. He loves to talk talk talk all the time and loves his big sister! He watches her every move with smiles from ear to ear. Karmann is progressing steadily on the potty training and hasn't had an accident in about 2 weeks! She talks almost like an adult in full sentences and is even starting to understand the concept of adding and subtracting, and we are working on reading, which I think she is going to catch on to very quickly. But, don't let me forget about her attitude! She's got the stubbornness of her dad, yet procrastinates like her mom!! Its a double edge sword which is a challenge for all of us sometime! But with the weather being nice, and the fence in the back yard, she's become quite the little gardener! She tends to the plants and flowers and loves to dig in the dirt.
On Monday we had an episode, though. She was playing at school, and fell over a ball and face-planted it into a wall. Her nose (which I am guessing is broken, though the ER didn't do xrays) is very swollen and she already has two black eyes. I will be taking progression photos of the recovery (at least I hope), and am praying that her little face bounces back to normal.
On another note (mostly for myself) last night, Max slept through the night, but Karmann wet the bed for the first time EVER. Both of these events have thrown me off from our usual routine - especially at night. Missy K came into our bed, and when I realized she didn't have her pj's on, I asked her why and she said she took them off because they were wet (which I thought was pretty good common sense!) So when I asked why they were wet, I figured out she had wet the bed. Bless her heart - we went in her room to get her dry clothes, and sure enough, she had. I didn't make any fuss about it, but just brought her back to our room to hopefully sleep the rest of the night. If I recall, it was about 4 am when all this happened. She didn't say a thing about it this morning, though she was a pistol to try and get dressed! She decided she didn't want to wear any clothes today! It so happens that we are having a cold spell of weather this week and it was only about 50 out this morning, so as soon as Kris took her outside without clothes, she quickly got dresses. (I'm shaking my head btw - but hey! what ever it takes!)
Max woke up happy and hungry, though his left eye is still goopy. He turns 6 months old next week, and we will be taking him to his doctor check up, so that will be one thing on the topics of discussion. I hope its nothing serious. The little man is so adorably cute and cuddly, that it is really hard leaving the house in the morning! All I want to do is play with him and hold him tight!
Well, though this is short, I will upload photos and fill in more stories from the past month soon!
