House Update 1.29.2011 (Day 348)

Yes, in 17 days, we will have been working on building the house for a full year. We actually had to renew our building permits this week! But, much progress is being made! We've had a lot of help lately - Jerry (my dad's best and oldest friend) was visiting from AZ and he helped sand all the interior trim boards last week! And this weekend, Papa Stenger is here again to help hang doors and start on the treads for the staircase - and many other odds and ends with details. We have been so blessed to have so many friends and family members help us on this process! They say it takes a village to raise a child, but they obviously forgot that it takes a village to build a house, and we are so lucky!! Here's a few photos of the details. I hope to take more photos tomorrow when more work is done.
Karmann on the rear deck - she's almost 36" tall...
Back patio pavers are in...
Detail of the downstairs light fixtures - these turned out to be PERFECT!
Jerry came all the way from Phoenix to help sand the interior trim boards!
Karmann and Grandpa playing around in the kitchen
Kris installing one of the ceiling fans in dining area
My much anticipated sink and faucet!!
Rear deck railings are up!
Interior upstairs floors are cork (this is our bedroom)
Front deck railings are up!
Also going on....pavers for driveway ribbons are in, ground floor concrete slab is polished, upstairs bathroom tile is going in, light fixtures and door hardware are on order. Still trying to decide what color to paint the exterior....have a great weekend!
