I can't believe its almost been a month since I entered a blog - we've been busy traveling and Karmann has been busy growing! Not to mention the house is progressing as well! Good thing I've taken notes!Karmann's 3rd trip to Illinois was a great one! The weather was a little cool and windy, but that didn't stop Karmann from playing outside! She loved Grandma and Pappa's back yard - especially the brick path that lines the flowers - as she only wanted to walk on the path!
Karmann also made the trip up to meet her new baby cousin Abby! This was an interesting test. Karmann didn't care if Mommy held the baby, but if Daddy held the baby - ohh!! watch out! She did not like that at all! Just more proof that she is daddy's girl!!
Great Nannie also made the trip to Bloomington to visit. Karmann and Nannie had a great time dancing - all over the place. They danced in the kitchen and on the deck, too! Karmann gave everyone a show one night when we were all sitting outside and Uncle Brian put some music on his Iphone and Karmann danced away. When the music stopped, she even paused in dance position waiting for the music to come back on! It was too cute!
Of course the main reason for the trip was to see Kris, Uncle Charlie, and friend Andy Williams run in the marathon at U of I's campus. Aunt Sarah also ran the half marathon. Karmann, Nannie and Papa all watched and cheered them on during the race. It was fun being back on U of I's campus, and to share it with Karmann! She had a blast stretching her legs at the Undergraduate library plaza on the south quad! I loved seeing her play with all the campus buildings surrounding her - I can only hope she decides to go to school there in 18 years! The race was a success for everyone, even with Sarah's heat exhaustion at the end. She recovered quickly and by the time Kris and Charlie finished, she was fine. This was Charlie and Andy's first marathon and they both did really well! This happened to be Kris' 10th race, and he will be taking a break from it for a while.
Back in Bloomington, Karmann, Nannie and I visited with Aunt Lillian and cousins Vicki and Jan. Vicki has two cats, which Karmann just loved! Vicki mistakenly gave Karmann a cat treat to feed to the kitties, but of course she thought it was a treat for her! She ate the treat, and to our surprise, she didn't spit it out, but ate the whole thing! That too is proof that she'll eat just about anything we put in front of her! It was too funny!
We all had a great visit with everyone that weekend. As the photos show, lots more when on and good memories were made. Karmann was an angel on the plane ride home, as she loved watching out the window, and then slept the whole ride home! Photos of the weekend are at this link: Enjoy!
