First visit to the Capital

This May, I finally had a chance to get to Washington D.C.! Kris had a conference and he knew I'd be mad if he went again and I didn't get to go. So we made arrangements for the kids, since it was still the school year, and off we went! We figured it had been at least 6 years + since we had been on an airplane together without kids. Needless to say, I was not disappointed with the Capital City and enjoyed 3 days being a tourist. We also visited with our previous coworker Annie, and Marisa made it down from NY to spend a quick 24 hours with me (thank you again Maris!) The first day I think I walked for 7 hours straight while Kris was at his conference. I pretty much saw all the monuments and a few museums that day. The next day I was so exhausted that I only visited the Declaration of Independence/Constitution and the National Portrait Gallery (spent 4 + hours). The next day Marisa and I had a great morning and then visited the National AIA office - which was a treat!  I look forward to many more trips and can't wait to take the kids too!
Proof to Max and Kar that Pandas eat carrots and they should too!
A hot walk through the zoo - which was near our hotel. We stayed in beautiful Woodley Park/Adams Morgan neighborhoods.
