I am embarrassed that I haven't updated my blog in 2.5 weeks. My apologies! Since so much is going on and I can't remember if I got the mail today or not, I'll give you the latest. Since Friday night, Kris' dad, Steve, has been visiting and helping Kris out at the house. Most of the weekend was spent getting things prepared for the drywall, which started being installed on Monday. Once that was going, K & S started working on the exterior soffits - which is not your typical facia/soffit project. So, to make a long story short, they hope to be done with the upper areas this week. Kris is of course stressed out because he had hoped to get all the exterior siding finished as well. He keeps saying we are running out of time, but we have to take it one day at a time! He can only do so much! He is working so hard, and the house is really coming together!!
On the other project, known as Karmann, she is also doing well. She is growing like a weed and seams to have gained 10 lbs. in the past few weeks! She's definitely starting to show her age. Actually, a funny story, when Papa got here, he was asking her to pick out the colors of the finger paints. When she didn't get yellow correct, she stuck out her bottom lip, bowed her head, and almost started crying!! I'm not sure if her feelings were hurt, or what! I had never seen her be sensitive like that before! But, on the other hand, she is a super happy girl who knows what she wants! And, she lets you know about it!!
Here'a a few pictures of her latest silliness. Apparently, she wants to be like her mommy, because she's been wanting to wear my glasses, and my shoes! So she's officially learned how to walk in high-heels. She's pretty good at it!
Other things she's learning at school includes body parts, sky, trees, and outdoor words, as well as expanding her animal library. She amazes me with the sentences she says and understands and she also has started to show her father's talent of selective hearing, too! She's still eating well, and loves her apples!!! She can successfully eat with a spoon and fork, and prefers to drink from the glass. She loves to pretend to talk on the phone, and can't get enough of Sesame Street and Elmo!!
Now that Ive flipped through the photos, I forgot to mention that the new Orlando Magic Amway Center opened on 10.01.2010 (last Friday). All three of us attended the ribbon cutting - as you can see from the photos. It was during Karmann's nap time, so she was having nothing to do with it by the time the doors opened! The daycare was closed that day, so Kris took her home and then I took the afternoon off after all the speeches, etc. It was a big event weekend with a City Employee and family night on Sunday. Since Steve and Kris were busy on the house, my dad came down and joined Karmann and me at the Arena. It was a great night and the building is beautiful! And - my name is on the plaque that commemorates all the City folk that worked on the project. We are all glad it is finally over!
